Confine

Confine

Poem, poem,
Whisper not,
What all those structured words forgot,

But between you and I,
What meaning holds?
When silence fades, where words unfold?

Their names, remembered;
Timeless, old,
Unique, impassioned,
Bitter;
Bold…

And what dreams are glimpsed,
Behind your eye?
Where silence fades, and ravens cry?

Where sun doth shine,
And dreams implore;
One to remember, their long lost lore?

What shackles bind, and realms entrust?
Such sacred things, subject to lust?
Where rules and binding, strict, “refined”,
These shattered things, lost—
Confined.
